Let’s face it, this is a fully capable video editing program for just 100 dollars. But, that’s where our expectations for an editor need to be in check. We are happy they offer both grouping and transparency, but we would hope those types of functions would be a given. Those two functions are the ability to group clips and that you can control track transparency. Not because of what they do, but that they were highlighted. As we went over the marketing materials that Corel offers, two capabilities of VideoStudio gave us a chuckle. It can convert 360 video into a standard video, offers time remapping and if you need help, there are a plethora of video tutorials and resources accessed directly within program. The highlights of X10 are that it can edit HD and 4K, has over 2,000 filters and effects. In the Share tab, you can export or share your final product directly to the web. The application is based off of four tabs: the Welcome tab, where you can view a tutorial, choose a project template or create a new one the Capture tab, where you can capture or import the footage you shot the Edit tab, where it’s likely you’ll spend 90 percent of your time, is where you’ll find effects and controls, the timeline and preview window and lastly there is the Share tab. VideoStudio Ultimate X10 is a simple yet capable video editor. Sure it supports 360 video, but only if you want to make a cropped version - more on that later. On top of that, many don’t have the need to invest in the more expensive options.įor all of you out there that need a video editor but don’t want to pay a monthly subscription or buy one for hundreds of dollars, consider VideoStudio Ultimate X10. However, there is still a huge need for those that don't require all the bells and whistles offered by the big guys. And that is true to an extent when you’re talking about the editors that the pros use. With the big brands like Adobe, Apple and Avid in the video editor marketplace, you wouldn’t think there’d be much breathing room for the small guys.
